New Mumbai terminal opens after long delays

Read More » The 4.7 million square feet terminal, built by its highly leveraged owners, GVK, can handle 40 million passengers annually in a country where visitors are predicted to reach 100 million a year by 2023. Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport’s T2, which will service India’s financial centre, features a three kilometer art wall of 7,000 artifacts that includes mud and cow dung from a traditional Indian village. GVK plans to sell off a share in T2 to reduce debt as well as build on land adjacent to the airport to reduce some of the complex’s building costs.
