Boeing extends retirement age to retain Boeing boss Dave Calhoun

Boeing Company CEO, David Calhoun, will remain in the job beyond his 65th birthday after the company lifted its standard retirement age from 65 to 70. Read More » "Given the substantial progress Boeing has made under Dave's leadership and the continuity necessary to thrive in our long-cycle industry, the board has determined it is in the best interests of the company and its stakeholders to allow the board and Dave the flexibility for him to continue in his role beyond the company's standard retirement age," Boeing chairman, Larry Kellner, said. Calhoun, who has been Boeing president and CEO since January 2020, turned 64 on April 18.
In other Boeing news, executive vice president for enterprise operations and chief financial officer, Greg Smith, will retire on July 9. Smith, who has been chief financial officer since 2011, said: "With the company well positioned going forward, the timing is right for me personally to begin a new chapter outside Boeing."
