Mainland carriers continue to record healthy domestic passenger expansion

Airlines in China flew 23.9 million passengers on domestic flights in February, down 20.6% from 30 million in January, figures from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) published yesterday showed. Read More » Despite the month-on-month decline, the February figure was a 227.2% improvement from 7.3 million passengers in the same month a year ago. Domestic passenger load factor for February was 66.7%, compared with 64% in January and 50.3% in February 2021. The CAAC said there were 91,000 international travellers in February, a decline of 91.4% from 1.1 million a year ago and 35.9% below the 142,000 recorded in January.
