Australia’s intrastate traffic hits trough in weeks leading to state border reopenings

Capacity, or available seat kilometres (ASK), fell 55.3% year-on-year for the month and the passenger load factor dropped 16.6 percentage points to 58.9%, from 75.5% in the same month in 2020. The busiest route by passenger numbers in February was Brisbane-Sydney, with 138,100 passengers, followed by Melbourne-Sydney (132,100) and Gold Coast-Sydney (68,100).
