Australia suspends passenger flights from India for two weeks; will review decision on May 15

Australia has banned passenger flights from India in response to a surge in COVID-19 infections in the country. Read More » The Australian government said yesterday all nonstop passenger flights to and from India would be temporarily suspended for the next two weeks. A review of the situation will be taken on May 15. The government said passengers on all future flights from India must have a negative COVID-19 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test result and a negative Rapid Antigen test result before taking off from India. Countries banning flights from India have included Canada, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
