Israeli OEM to build 777 freighter conversion workshop in Seoul

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) said yesterday it would build a 777 passenger to cargo conversion facility at Seoul Incheon Airport as demand for wide-body freighter aircraft is expected to increase. Read More » The facility will be built and operated in partnership with Incheon International Airport Corporation and Sharp Technics K, with IAI to convert six 777-300ERs and 777-200LRs per year from 2024. "Signing today with Incheon International Airport and Sharp is directly connected to IAI's close cooperation with the South Korean aviation industry. It highlights IAI's trust and respect in South Korea's ability to establish a conversion line to meet demand, along with the necessary trained manpower," IAI aviation group vice president and general manager, Yossi Melamed, said.
