UK and Ireland flights to Hong Kong will resume on May 7

Flights to Hong Kong from Ireland and the UK will resume from May 7 given the "stabilising local epidemic situation and the relatively satisfactory vaccination rate" in the two countries, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government said yesterday. Read More » "Hong Kong residents in the two places may board flights for Hong Kong and will be subject to the most stringent compulsory quarantine and testing arrangements upon arrival in the city," the HKSAR said in a statement. Passengers must have received a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of departure and have a confirmed 21-day booking at a designated quarantine hotel in Hong Kong. All arrivals will receive three COVID-19 tests during quarantine and another test on the 26th day after arrival in the HKSAR. The Hong Kong government has banned travellers from "high-risk places" including Brazil, India, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines and South.
