May 28th 2021
Qantas Group chief customer officer, Stephanie Tully, told local media this week the company was considering offering incentives to encourage travellers to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Read More » Tully said the airline group was a big supporter of Australia's vaccine rollout because of its significance for public health and its importance in keeping domestic borders open and encouraging restarting of international travel. “As a large company that relies on travel to put our people and planes back to work, we are obviously motivated to help with the national vaccine effort,” Tully said. “We are still thinking through how this would work, but the incentive could be Qantas points, Qantas or Jetstar flight vouchers or status credits for frequent flyers.” About 500,000 Australians have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine since the rollout began in February, according to government figures, representing about 2% of the country's 26 million people.
