IndiGo CEO sees modest turnaround in domestic India traffic

IndiGo had its best month since the onset of the pandemic in February, when bookings peaked at 80% of pre-COVID-19 levels. The recovery stalled after a national surge in daily infections in March and April. “The near-term outlook for international continues to be bleak and a meaningful recovery of international traffic will probably be pushed to the fourth quarter of 2022,” he said. Dutta is bullish about IndiGo's prospects and the airline was "poised to expand aggressively both domestically and internationally once this pandemic is over". He spoke to media and analysts after the airline reported a net loss of 58.1 billion rupees (US$797.6 million) for the 12 months to March 31, 2021.
