Eastar Jet closer to deciding new owner local media reports

In the coming week, South Korean carrier, Eastar Jet, will name its preferred buyer, Yonhap News Agency has reported, citing unnamed industry sources familiar with the matter. Read More » Recent local reporting said about 10 entities had submitted Letters of Intent for purchase of the LCC. Eastar’s search for a new owner began after Jeju Air walked away from a proposed takeover of the carrier in June 2020. The LCC’s flights have largely been suspended since March last year. The report said Eastar's rehabilitation scheme required it to submit its debt-repayment and other rehabilitation programs to the Korean courts by July 20.
