SIA launches carbon offset program for passengers and air cargo customers

Singapore Airlines Group (SIA) is offering passengers and cargo clients the opportunity to offset their carbon emissions from flights. Read More » Passengers flying on Singapore Airlines and Scoot could commence offsetting their emissions from today while air cargo customers will be offered the option from late July, the airline group said. SIA senior vice president for corporate planning, Lee Wen Fen, said the carbon offset scheme used accredited projects that provided clear benefits to people and the planet. "Matching their offsets is our way of encouraging our customers to fly carbon neutral," Lee said. "The programme supports the group’s commitment to buttress our sustainability efforts and reinforces our leadership position in the airline industry as we recover from the impact of COVID-19.” SIA and Scoot will match customer offsets for the first six months of the program’s operations. Corporate customers can participate in the program from the fourth quarter of this year.
