Garuda Indonesia passengers decline 16.1% in May

Garuda Indonesia flew 291,091 passengers on its domestic network in May, a decline of 16.1% month-on-month from 346,824 passengers in April. Garuda's monthly traffic report said the government's eid homecoming ban policy affected its operations in May. The SkyTeam alliance member reported a domestic load factor of 43.3% for the month, compared with 39.4% in April and 69.5% in May 2019. Garuda's LCC, Citilink, carried 546,376 passengers in May, a 24.4% decline from 722,313 passengers transported in April and 25.7% below 735,638 passengers in May two years ago. Citilink's May passenger load factor was 61.7% and 58.7% in April.
