Korean Air (KAL) is expected to spend 2.4 trillion won (US$2.1 billion) to complete its proposed merger with Asiana Airlines, The Korea Herald has reported, citing information from South Korean politician, Park Sang-hyuk. Read More » The investment covered the acquisition and the post-merger integration process, the report said. "The IT integration will absorb most of the post-merger integration budget,” The Korea Herald said. KAL hopes to complete the integration of South Korea's two largest airline groups by 2024.
