Air New Zealand (Air NZ) will operate nine repatriation flights from Sydney – seven to Auckland and two to Christchurch – between July 13 and July 23 – following fresh outbreaks of COVID-19 in Sydney. Read More » Seats are limited due to New Zealand's hotel quarantine system, known as managed isolation facilities (MIQ), the airline said. "We would love to bring more Kiwis home to their families, but we are limited by the availability of MIQ spots," Air NZ chief customer and sales officer, Leanne Geraghty, said. "Between 40 and 60 seats per flight will be available for booking as they are directly linked to MIQ spots." Some seats will be reserved for compassionate circumstances, the airline added.
