All Nippon Airways introduces passenger facial recognition at Tokyo Narita Airport

Read More » The first flight to feature the "Face Express" technology will be Narita- Mexico City. The Star Alliance member also plans to install the facial technology at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. "As we continue looking for new ways to improve the passenger experience, Face Express serves as a template for harnessing the latest technology to assist passengers to travel safely," ANA senior vice president for the airline's operations support centre, Masaki Yokai, said. In April, ANA took part in a Face Express trial conducted at both of Tokyo’s international airports. Passengers registered their facial images and proceeded through check-in, baggage drop, security checkpoint entrance and boarding without showing their passports and boarding passes.
