Vietnam regulator suspends flights from southern provinces

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) said in a statement it had written to airlines to suspend domestic passenger flights to and from airports in the southern provinces for a 14-day period from July 19 to August 1. Read More » There were no restrictions on cargo flights. The CAAV statement said passengers had to present a valid certificate showing a negative test for COVID-19 before travel. Vietnam has been battling a sharp rise in new COVID-19 infections. There were 4,843 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, compared with 545 new cases a day at the start of July.
