Sydney Airport traffic affected by stay-at-home orders

Read More » When compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, the June 2021 figure was 56.8% below the 2.1 million domestic passengers recorded in June 2019. International passenger numbers remained more than 90% below 2019 levels amid ongoing restrictions for overseas travel. "International and domestic passenger numbers were impacted by the stay-at-home orders issued by the NSW government on 25 June 2021," Sydney Airport said. "These restrictions have resulted in border closures to NSW limiting interstate travel and a suspension in quarantine-free trans-Tasman travel from 23 June 2021." Sydney Airport noted that before these stay-at-home orders, trans-Tasman passenger traffic had reached about 40% of the corresponding period in 2019.
