AirAsia Group seeks extension on private placement of shares

AirAsia Group Berhad is seeking additional time to complete a private placement of shares first announced in January. Read More » The company said RHB Investment Bank, on behalf of the airline group, had submitted an application to extend the deadline for the private placement from August 2 to "up to 31 December 2021". In January, AirAsia announced plans to raise up to 454.51 million ringgit (US$107.6 million) in fresh funding with the issue of up to 668.39 million new shares, representing about 20% of its share capital at the time, via a private placement. To date, through two tranches, AirAsia has raised 336.5 million ringgit from the placement of about 470.3 million shares.
