Cathay Pacific seeking changes in quarantine rules for flight crew

Cathay Pacific Group is lobbying the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) to relax quarantine rules for its flight crews given the high rates of vaccination among its pilots and cabin crew, the South China Morning Post newspaper has reported. Read More » The current rules have resulted in an increased cash burn of HK$400 million (US$51.5 million) a month at the airline group, the newspaper said. The airline recently announced that 84% of cabin crew and 97% of pilots had been vaccinated against COVID-19. In April, the HKSAR said pilots on cargo flights would not have to quarantine in Hong Kong if they were fully vaccinated. Non-vaccinated pilots on cargo flights are able to avoid quarantine if they are returning from "low risk" countries.
