China's regulator issues notice on refunds as China battles COVID-19 Delta outbreak

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) said airline customers who had purchased air tickets for flights between August 4 and August 31 can apply for a refund without financial penalty. Read More » The notice, posted on the CAAC website, said the ticket refund policy was to support the control of COVID-19 in China and reduce the movement of people. China has been battling a fresh outbreak of COVID-19. In response to the crisis, sparked mainly by the Delta variant of COVID-19, China has stepped up testing of front-line workers and introduced stricter prevention and control measures. The CAAC said the frequency of 621 inbound passenger flights had been reduced to prevent the importation of the COVID-19 virus into the country.
