Boeing sending 737 MAX to China: report

A 737 MAX was headed to China for flight tests to recertify the aircraft for operations in the country, according to media reports, citing unnamed sources not authorised to speak publicly. Flight tracking websites show Boeing's 737 MAX 7 test aircraft - registration N7201S - took off from Boeing Field in Washington State on Wednesday morning local time and landed at Kapolei in Hawaii on the way to China. A number of jurisdictions have approved the 737 MAX's to return to service after design changes were made to the aircraft following two fatal crashes. The aircraft type has been grounded in China since March 2019.
