Japan Airlines continues to cut back its domestic network

Japan Airlines (JAL) has cancelled another 4,224 domestic flights, this time from August 11 to September 15, due to market conditions. Read More » About 440 flights from August 11 and August 31 have been cancelled, bringing to 8,328 services eliminated from carrier's August operating schedule. The changes will result in JAL flying 70% of its normal services for the 31 days, down one percentage point from the 71% operation rate outlined in the airline's update in late July. Also, 3,784 flights have been cancelled in the first half of September. The operation rate for the September 15-day period is 70%. The oneworld alliance member said details on flight cancellations between September 16 and 30 would be published on August 11.
