BOC Aviation reports US$254 million interim net profit

Lessor BOC Aviation reported net profit declined 21.4%, to US$254 million, in the six months to June 30, from a net profit of US$323 million in the same six months in 2020. Read More » Revenue rose 7%, to US$1.1 billion, BOC Aviation said in a regulatory filing to the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Costs increased 20.4%, to US$820 million. “BOC Aviation’s underlying earnings continued to improve during interim 2021 with profit before tax and impairment charges rising 5%, to US$434 million, reflecting our disciplined investment in modern aircraft placed on long-term leases to high quality airline customers,” BOC Aviation CEO, Robert Martin, said. The company declared an interim dividend of US$0.1098 per share, representing 30% of net profit after tax, which BOC said was the same proportion as interim dividends in prior years. BOC said it had 536 aircraft either owned, managed or committed at June 30, compared with 571 aircraft a year ago. Its order book stood at 122 aircraft due for delivery by December 31, 2024.
