AirAsia Group's Fernandes mulls separating company's digital and aviation businesses

AirAsia Group CEO, Tony Fernandes, has told reporters the company could split its digital and aviation business, local media has reported. Read More » “Certainly, if you look at the way we are positioning ourselves, there will be a split at some time, for sure," Fernandes was quoted as saying at the launch of a new AirAsia ridesharing service. "The stock market is not giving us any value for the digital products. The board and I will have to look at that." AirAsia Group has expanded its digital businesses in recent times, including food/grocery delivery, payment services and travel products as well as launching the AirAsia superapp. Fernandes also said during the reported media event, held virtually, that the company was considering four or five non-airline acquisitions.
