Garuda Indonesia reports 28.7% June lift in domestic passengers

Garuda Indonesia flew 374,678 passengers on its domestic network in June, up 28.7% from 291,091 passengers in May. Read More » Compared with pre-COVID-19 activity, the June figure was 72.2% below the 1.3 million domestic passengers Garuda recorded in June 2019. The flag carrier's monthly traffic report said passenger numbers "recovered significantly" following the Indonesia government's Eid homecoming ban policy that affected operations in May. The SkyTeam alliance member reported a domestic load factor of 51.3% for the month compared with 43.3% in May and 82.5% in June 2019.

Garuda's LCC, Citilink, carried 817,926 passengers in June, a 49.7% improvement from 546,376 passengers transported in May and 28.5% below 1.1 million passengers flown in June two years ago. Citilink's passenger load factor was 62.3% for the month compared with 61.7% in May and 83% in June 2019.
