Vietnam's regulator extends local flight restrictions

Read More » The restrictions include stopping ticket sales until further notice and limiting services between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to two passenger flights a day, operated by Vietnam Airlines. There continued to be no restrictions on cargo flights, while services for the purposes of disease prevention and public service would be allowed to operate subject to regulatory approval. The CAA has written to VietJet, Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Airlines to instruct them to maintain the limits on their flights introduced on July 21. New daily COVID-19 infection rates have risen steadily across the country since the start of July, reaching 17,428 cases daily in late August. There were 14,224 cases recorded yesterday, the World Health Organisation said.
