Air New Zealand will reopen premium passenger lounges at its domestic lounges, except at Auckland Airport, from tomorrow as COVID-19 restrictions are eased in most regions of the country. Read More » The New Zealand government has announced that with exception of Auckland, the country will move to Alert Level 2 from 2359 local time tonight. Auckland, the centre of a COVID-19 outbreak discovered last month, will remain at the highest level of restrictions - Alert Level 4. Under Alert Level 2, New Zealanders are permitted to travel domestically to other regions at Alert Level 2 or lower, including flight itineraries that transited through Auckland Airport. Air NZ lounges will be restricted to 50 people and operate with an "adjusted service". The Star Alliance member said its current domestic schedule is planned to remain in place until September 14, but could be adjusted subject to demand. The schedule from September 15 onwards is being reviewed.
