Malindo Air preparing to reinstate 737 MAX operations: report

Lion Air Group carrier, Malindo Air, is expected to take delivery of 10 737 MAXs next year as it prepares to resume operations with the Boeing narrow-body, Malaysia's New Straits Times newspaper has reported, citing an unnamed internal source. Read More » In 2017, Malaysia-based Malindo was the first airline to fly the 737 MAX 8. The type was then withdrawn from the carrier's schedule as regulators around the world grounded the 737 MAX in March 2019 after two fatal crashes involving the aircraft. The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) recently cleared the MAX for resumption of flying. The New Straits Times report said Malindo will recruit up to 1,500 employees as it grew the 737 MAX fleet to 10 of the aircraft.
