First Greater Bay Airlines 737-800 arrives in Hong Kong

Read More » Flight tracking websites showed the aircraft, registration B-KJA, touched down at Hong Kong International Airport a little after 1500 local time yesterday, following its ferry flight from Hamburg, where it had undergone flight tests, via Astana to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. GBA CEO, Algernon Yau, confirmed the arrival of the aircraft in a digital post and described the event as a "key milestone" in the airline's history. "New bird in Town! It has come eventually after months of hard work!" Yau wrote. GBA is planning to begin operations on October 1 with charter flights from Hong Kong to Beijing. The airline, which expects to receive its Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and operating licence shortly, intends to launch operations with three 737-800s with the fleet to grow to 10 next year and exceed 30 aircraft by 2026.
