EVA Air passenger numbers rise for second straight month

Taiwanese airline, EVA Air, flew 27,963 passengers in August, up 7.8%, from 25,947 passengers in July. Read More » It was the Star Alliance member's second consecutive month-on-month improvement in passengers carried. The reported figures were down 39.3%, from 46,075 passengers in the same month in 2020, and 97.7% lower than the 1.2 million transported in August 2019. EVA Air recorded TW$977.8 million (US$35.3 million) in passenger revenue for August, 7.3% above the TW$911.4 million earned in July 2021 and an improvement of 8.1% from TW$904.9 million a year ago. Compared with pre-COVID-19 levels, passenger revenue was 89.9% less than the TW$9.7 billion generated in August 2019.
