Cathay Pacific CEO, Augustus Tang, has highlighted the airline's resilience on the occasion of the airline's 75th anniversary this month. Read More » “Cathay Pacific has seen exhilarating successes over the past incredible 75 years," Tang said. "We have connected people to many new destinations, welcomed the arrival of state-of-the-art aircraft and introduced exciting customer experience enhancements, to name a few. We also have experienced unprecedented challenges such as the global pandemic that we are all still overcoming. What these more than seven decades have shown is we are a resilient brand."

The Hong Kong-based carrier has launched a number of limited edition items to commemorate its sapphire jubilee, including pen and cardholder sets made with aluminium from its final 747-400 passenger aircraft, registration B-HUJ and luggage tags crafted from the fuselage of retired 777-200, registration B-HND. Obsolete crew uniforms have been transformed into bags, patchwork cushion covers, pouches and teddy bears. There also is a box set of seven Cathay aircraft, including the airline’s first Douglas DC-3 aircraft, “Betsy”, and the latest aircraft to join the airline's fleet, the A321neo.
