India's SpiceJet announces settlement with CDB Aviation on 737 MAX aircraft

India's SpiceJet said in a regulatory filing to the BSE stock exchange it had "commercially agreed a settlement" with aircraft lessor, CDB Aviation, covering 737 MAX aircraft. Read More » The filing said the settlement was in addition to an earlier resolution with lessor Avolon and would help the airline grow its 737 MAX fleet. "The airline expects to start operations of MAX aircraft around the end of September, subject to regulatory approvals," the company said. SpiceJet was the first airline in India to operate the 737 MAX. It has 13 737 MAX 8s, according to the SpiceJet website. Figures from the Boeing website show the airline has 129 more of the type on order. Grounded Indian carrier, Jet Airways, has orders for 125 MAXs, according to Boeing figures.
