AirAsia Malaysia has scheduled 90 flights a week to Langkawi from five cities in Peninsular Malaysia as the island resort prepares to welcome fully vaccinated local visitors from tomorrow under a travel bubble scheme. Read More » The LCC said the Langkawi travel bubble had been well received by Malaysians after it was announced last week. AirAsia Malaysia said there will be three flights a week from Ipoh, seven a week from Johor Bahru, three a week from Kota Bharu, 63 a week from Kuala Lumpur and 14 a week from Penang. More routes will be added to the schedule and additional flights mounted as travel demand increased. “Since the government’s announcement of the Langkawi travel bubble’s SOP (standard operating procedures) last week, we have seen very strong uptake for seats to Langkawi, especially with AirAsia's RM12 low fares and RM99 SNAP deals," AirAsia Malaysia CEO, Riad Asmat, said. "This clearly indicates strong pent up demand for travel."
