The Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam has recommended the Boeing 737 MAX can resume service

The Vietnamese regulator, the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV), has reviewed global data and recommended the 737 MAX can return to flying in its jurisdiction. Read More » The CAAV said it had been working with Boeing on the issue after problems with controversial flight management software program linked to fatal crashes in Indonesia and Ethiopia prompted global bans from March 2019.
The CAAV’s website said 178 of 195 aviation authorities around the world had lifted bans on MAX operations, with China and Indonesia expected join them soon.
More than 360 aircraft [of the type] have resumed operations with 35 airlines.
“As of September 15, after being allowed to return to operations, (the) Boeing 737 Max has performed more than 150,000 flights with a total of more than 370,000 safe flight hours,’’ it said. “The departure reliability index (delay of flights over 15 minutes due to technical reasons) averaged over 99.35%.” Based on assessments and safety results, the CAAV said it was proposing to the Transport Ministry the department “carry out the necessary procedures” to allow the MAX to fly to and from Vietnamese territory and be imported into the country.
