The practical details of international travel have yet to be revealed but at least two states are considering home quarantine using facial recognition apps. “My hope is we will get to the situation on testing where it won’t be two weeks. You will be able to minimise the time you spend in home quarantine,’’ Tehan said. The Australian government is working on a proof of vaccination linking a QR code to a passport. It is in talks with other countries to ensure the “vaccine passport” will be accepted, but it is not yet clear on which outbound destinations it will be available.
