China’s domestic passenger numbers decline 7% in July

Intra-China domestic passengers dropped by 7% in July, to 49 million, compared with July 2019 and international numbers remained down by 98%, figures released this week by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) show. Read More » In July, overall passenger numbers were lower by 17.2% compared with two years ago. Passenger load factors also were down by 4.9 percentage points to 78.7%. Combined figures for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan were equally grim at 81,000, down 92.6% against July 2019. Cargo figures were better with 594,000 tonnes carried overall, a fall -off of 3.6% compared with the same month in 2019.
