Taiwan’s Starlux Airlines is now flying to nine destinations after launching a Taipei-Singapore service on September 23. Read More » The route, described by the company as a significant milestone, comes after it began serving Kuala Lumpur, Ho Chi Minh City and Manila earlier this year. Like many airlines, Starlux has been adjusting its flight schedules and aircraft deliveries and says it has been concentrating on business destinations rather than popular leisure spots. The airline is operating five A321neos sporting 188 seats, including eight lie-flat business class seats. It also flies to Macau, Penang, Bangkok, Osaka and Tokyo. The company said in a statement it recognised Singapore as a centre of economic and cultural events as well as an important transportation hub. “The airline chose to open the route based on the level of cargo flight demand and hopes to provide travel services to passengers commuting between Singapore and Taiwan in the post-pandemic period,’’ it said.
