AirAsia Indonesia to resume scheduled flying

AirAsia Indonesia has announced it will be gradually be returning to scheduled flight operations starting with Jakarta-Bali from October 14. Read More » The airline will operate two daily return flights on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Other routes will be announced later, it said. Passengers have been told they will need a COVID-19 negative test result and a vaccination certificate, wear a face mask during and after the flight and arrive early at the airport. They also will have to fill out an electronic health awareness card. AirAsia Indonesia said self-check-in was temporarily unavailable so passengers would need to go to a counter to verify travel documents, print a boarding pass and drop off checked baggage. The announcement comes as AirAsia Philippines chief financial officer, Rey Berja, told reporters he hoped the Filipino airline’s domestic operations would reach pre-pandemic levels by April or May next year. He also said the LCC planned to operate flights to and from Taiwan and Singapore in December.
