Vietnam’s regulator proposes full resumption of domestic flights from December

The Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has submitted a proposal to resume normal domestic flying from December if COVID-19 cases are under control, according to government media reports. The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) reported a draft plan, covering October 21 to November 30, had proposed continued limits on major routes linked to capacity before the fourth wave of infections began earlier this year. The VNA said this would mean six flights per day on Hanoi-Da Nang, Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang-Ho Chi Minh City. Two of these routes would go to Vietnam Airlines, two to VietJet Air and one each to Bamboo Airways and Pacific Airlines. Other routes would have no more than one round-trip per day, the news agency said. The CAAV also said on its website that talks were underway about re-opening flights with Singapore.
