Thai Airways International unveils schedules for almost 30 international destinations

Financially-embattled Thai Airways International (THAI) is making a comeback on international routes with an ambitious northern winter schedule that will see it resume flights to a number of its regular destinations. Read More » The plan includes re-introducing flights to Europe and Australia and within Asia in support of the Thai government’s plan to reopen the country to tourists from November 1. THAI chief commercial officer, Nond Kalinta, said the flag carrier also was responding to increasing demand for air travel on international routes. THAI has been in administration since last year, operating a skeleton schedule to a small number of destinations. That strategy is about to change with a northern winter schedule that sees it spread its wings. The carrier intends to operate four direct flights a week to London and Frankfurt; one flight weekly to Paris and Munich and twice a week flights to Brussels, Milan, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Zurich and Sydney. Some 19 regional routes will be re-launched at various frequencies to destinations such as Manila, Osaka, Tokyo, Nagoya, Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul and Singapore. Flights to the India subcontinent will include Mumbai, Karachi and Chennai. The schedule runs from October 31 to March 26 with some services starting before Christmas and others from January 1.
