Thai VietJet celebrates 10 million passengers with new services

Thai VietJet celebrated its 10 millionth passenger this week as it rebuilds services in Thailand with the addition of flights from the northern city of Chiang Rai to resort island Phuket and the southern border city of Hat Yai. Read More » The two services operate three flights a week and are part of push by Thai VietJet to reconnect Thailand’s northern and southern regions. They add to a network that includes 14 domestic routes from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport and cross-regional operations. The five-year old airline, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s VietJet Air, also plans new international services connecting Bangkok with Singapore and Taipei and Phuket with Singapore later this year. The 10 millionth passenger was onboard Thai VietJet’s flight from Bangkok to Chiang Rai on Monday and was awarded a complimentary one-year air ticket while other passengers took part in a lucky draw for a complimentary round-trip ticket.
