Read More » The first phase would see the country open to overseas travellers from countries with high vaccinations rates. China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia, France, Germany, Russia, UK and Australia are currently on the list. Each airline flying into the country would be allowed four trips a week with visitors expected to be about 12,000 a week, according to a posting on the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam website. The first phase will see fully vaccinated passengers, or those who have recovered from COVID-19 no more than six months before arrival, quarantine for seven days at paid facilities on arrival in Vietnam. Unvaccinated travellers must undergo a 14-day quarantine. A second phase would see quarantine dropped for fully vaccinated travellers and is expected to start in the second quarter. Phase three, to be implemented from the third quarter of next year, would see regular international flights operate according to demand. A pilot program is in place that allows vaccinated foreign tourists on packaged holidays to visit five destinations in Vietnam provided they follow testing and other procedures.
