Indian domestic airlines report traffic growth in October

October passenger numbers on India’s domestic airlines were more than 70% higher than last year thanks to an Indian government decision to lift capacity limits. Read More » Passengers carried on Indian domestic routes jumped from 5.27 million in October 2020 to 8.99 million last month, figures published by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation show. That pushed the year-to-date total 25.9% higher than in the same period last year, to 62.1 million passengers transported. SpiceJet recorded the highest load factor at 82.2%, ahead of Star Air (80 %) and IndiGo ( 78%).
