Thai VietJet has claimed the top spot for passenger and cargo in Thailand. Read More » Citing Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) quarterly transportation statistics, the budget carrier said it recorded a 25.6% passenger share [in Thailand] in the third quarter of this year and a 42.2% share of domestic air freight. “Despite the on-going pandemic for almost two years, Thai VietJet has steadily advanced to the top of the industry in Q3 2021 from second place in 2020,’’ the airline said. “In addition, the airline has proactively managed to become the domestic air travel market recovery leader, with leading capacity and more new routes opened during the year 2021, offering passengers more choices and flexibility while helping stimulate tourism and travel demand to return at a faster pace.” Thai VietJet recently carried its 10 millionth passenger after launching scheduled services in September 2016. It operates 16 A320 family aircraft.
