Switzerland-based SR Technics, owned by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Development Company, and AeroAsia (GMF) have established a component support shop in Jakarta for Garuda’s A330s and B737NG aircraft. Read More » SR Technics general manager for Malaysia, Heinz Freimann said: “when a customer airline needs component repaired in the region, we can do it. We are also transferring business from Switzerland to Malaysia, based on existing long-term contracts.”

 


European MRO signs up Air China

AFI KLM E&M is developing a stronger presence in the Asia-Pacific, after it wrote the largest ever contract for a European MRO, with Air China, for engine support. In January, the MRO signed an exclusive contract with Myanmar Airways International (MAI) for engine support on the carrier’s A320 fleet. In 2012 MAI awarded AFI KLM E&M its component support contract for its Airbus airplanes.
