Air New Zealand to only support proven sustainable tourism businesses in 2022

Air New Zealand (Air NZ) announced on Monday it will sell only activities and attractions awarded a Qualmark endorsement for their commitment to quality, safety and sustainability from March 31 next year. Read More » The airline currently sells 465 Qualmark-endorsed New Zealand visitor activities and wants to increase that number as more businesses achieve the award standard. To become a Qualmark-awarded activity, businesses are assessed on four key criteria: economic, social and people, environment and culture, and health and safety. The businesses can achieve bronze, silver or gold awards. Air NZ chief customer and sales officer, Leanne Geraghty, said the COVID-19 pandemic had accelerated the airline’s commitment to sustainability.
