Jet Airways says talks continuing with Airbus and Boeing about aircraft order

India's Jet Airways said it continued to be in advanced discussions with Airbus and Boeing about a potential aircraft order. Read More » "The discussions with Boeing and Airbus are ongoing," the company said in a regulatory filing to the National Stock Exchange of India. The filing was in response to questions from the exchange regarding media reports that the airline was in talks with the two manufacturers about a US$12 billion order. Jet Airways said it had been in advanced discussions with the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) since June, when India's National Company Law Tribunal approved a consortium funded by United Arab Emirates-based entrepreneur, Murari Lal Jalan, and founder of United Kingdom-based investment fund Kalrock Capital, Florian Fritsch, to take over the airline. "Financials mentioned in the news piece are purely based on speculative calculations for more than 100 aircraft purchased as per industry standards," Jet Airways said.
