China approves 737 MAX to resume flying

Read More » The regulator said in an airworthiness directive issued late last week it was satisfied the aircraft was safe following design changes, revised pilot training courses and updated operational manuals in response to two fatal crashes. "After conducting sufficient assessments, CAAC considers the corrective actions are adequate to address this unsafe condition," the airworthiness directive said. Operators of the 737 MAX in China included the "big three" of Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines. Carriers on the Mainland are expected to resume 737 MAX operations by December 31 or early in 2022.
