Virgin Australia targets 33% market share

Virgin Australia (VA) CEO, Jayne Hrdlicka, has reaffirmed the airline's goal of holding a one-third share of the Australian domestic market as well as having a presence on select international routes. We also intend to be quite a strong player in the short-haul international market with a primary focus on New Zealand, Fiji and Bali in the first instance," Hrdlicka told a CAPA conference yesterday, local media reported. “We are lean. We are strong. We are capable and we are very purposeful. We are competitive not only with Qantas and Rex but also with Jetstar. We will be very competitive with Jetstar - and we need to be.”
