Buddha Air leads network expansion in Nepal

Read More » Despite the global pandemic, Nepal recorded an all-time high of 3.54 million domestic passengers last year. The country’s largest domestic airline, Buddha Air, which has a 54% market share, is adding four more ATR 72-500s to its fleet to serve additional local destinations. Two of the planes are arriving this month and the remaining two planes in March or April. The airline has a 15-aircraft fleet: three ATR 42-300s, two Beechcraft 1900Ds and 10 ATR 72-500s. Another local carrier, Yeti Airlines, is looking to dry lease two ATR 72-500s and two ATR 42-500s this year, also for domestic operations.
